Personally, mine changes from day to day, but right now I'm hooked on 3. "I'll Be You're Baby Tonight", "Bernadette Loves R&H", and "Annie Get Your Gun". I think she sounds amazing on all three of these cds. Of course, that's all going to change August 19 when GYPSY comes out!

So, what's YOUR favorite?

As of now, "R&H" -- because I too love R&H and, particularly adore the track, "So Far," an R&H song I'd not heard before.
I bought this CD, and on the very first listen, when I heard those songs and THAT voice...I was in heaven.
But heaven knows how many playings "Gypsy" will get on the first day. I've already warned friends, family and office mates, I'm gonna be truly obnoxious beginning Aug. 19.

Right now it's Annie Get Your Gun. I never got to see the show but I adore the music. Moonlight Lullaby is so gorgeous with Bernadette's vocals.

Seconded to this, I've been listening to (Bernadette-wise, that is) some songs I had downloaded off the net from her concert. Some of my favorites:

Unexpected Song
Move on
Being Alive
Faithless Love
Broadway Baby (of course!)

I also recently bought Bernadette's OLD OLD album (the one with the pink cover and the sketch of her looking in the mirror.) On that, I've been listening to:

Pearl's a Singer
The Other Woman

Something I've noticed from listening to her old album and also to AGYG is how matured her voice has become since the late 80's. She really has a much richer, fuller sound now than she did then.

***************
Regis: And look at all this hair. My God. That's a lot of hair. Look at this. How does hair get this way?
Bernadette: Um.. it sort of grew out of my head like this.

Mack and Mabel. If you think there's a difference in her voice now vs. the 80s,play the OCR "Time Heals Everything" and the Sondheim Etc "Time Heals Everything" (or watch the London concert recording) back to back.

It's a lovely score-too bad no one has figured out how to incorporate it into a successful story. And it's not as if they haven't tried several times (a revival with a new book was proposed a season or two ago,but nothing came of it).

Well, Doug Sills and Jane Krajkowki did play Mack and Mabel in a production of the show out in CA about a year or so ago. There was some talk about bringing it back to Broadway but then both stars got involved in other things. I even remember Bernadette saying that she thought the book would need a major rewrite for the show to have a successful run on Broadway.

I must say I listen to Sondheim Etc. almost every time I get into my car, especially "Move On." I just love that song. I also have begun to listen to the Goodbye Girl cast recording b/c someone who knew I was a big Bernadette fan recently gave it to me. I'm beginning to like it too. Now we'll talk later when the Gypsy recording is released.

I don't think I could ever pick out a favorite album. I love them all. But I have a feeling Gypsy will become my absolute favorite. How could it not?

Well, right now I am sort of hooked on Kenny Loggins: More Songs From Pooh Corner ( don't ask! LOL). I would LOVE to hear Bernadette record Your Heart Will Lead You Home someday!

Frank Wildhorn's The Civil War has an amazing score! I hope they do some sort of concert version of that show in the near future!

The Tale of Two Cities demo is really great too and I hope that it'll make it to Broadway someday!

I also loved Jane Eyre. The music from that show is beautiful! Too bad people didn't give the show much of a chance

Its too hard to choose LOL

Sondheim Ect I listen to religiosly. Although I have ALL of her cds so really I just listen to Bernadette Religiously. By the way, since we were talking about Mack and Mabel earlier I wanted to say that I will be playing Miss Mabel Normand herself sometime in the near future. I like the book, but maybe I'm just weird. My director acts just like Robert Preston and he claims that I'm young Bernadette...I was flattered but don't quite believe him.

Bump it with a trumpet!
